Hours

Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Facilities

We provide a home-like environment with classrooms arranged by age/stage of development. Our facility follows all recommended daycare safety standards, including security cameras, key-coded door, emergency exits, and a staffed reception area. Not only will your child be safe, but his or her imagination will be kindled when spending time outside in our play areas or watching as the surrounding farmland is planted, grown, and harvested.

Curriculum

NCC uses developmentally appropriate curriculum, with an emphasis on teacher-directed, hands-on learning activities. We utilize the Abeka Curriculum and the HighScope Curriculum.

Teachers

Our teachers are the ones who make the magic happen at NCC! Our caring, dedicated team uses a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities through dramatic play, blocks, art, toys, games, language, literacy, and outdoor play.

Inclusion

We embrace an inclusion approach that strives to provide opportunities for all children to actively participate in all aspects of the program. All teachers have knowledge and training in inclusion best practices.

Children with special needs or disabilities and children who are developing will typically be together in classrooms in order to support and enhance all of the children’s opportunities for learning.

If your child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), please share that information with the staff. We will make necessary accommodations when possible in order to implement them.

Children from all backgrounds, religious beliefs, faith, nationalities, etc. are all most welcome at Newark Christian Childcare. By providing an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion, we believe that we can create an environment in which all children feel valued and respected, with conditions that promote optimal learning and development.

Nutrition

NCC participates in the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CAFCP), a federally-funded food program made available by the US Department of Agriculture and administered by the State of Delaware. Nutritious meals are provided for all children. In addition, NCC is a nut-free facility.
